Artist Statement

I write poetry that is meant to be read, visually experienced through handmade collage and heard aloud through spoken word.

I create with great attention and focus on vulnerability. I seek to soften and reimagine the experiences of familial disappointment, aspiration, fear, and insecurity to awaken the reader to examine their own self-image, dreams, legacies, and struggles of faith.

About me

I'm black, a child of Jamaican immigrants, a woman and a wife. I'm an artist, trying to live the dream we all want: to dream and do the things we love.
